Lassiter High School was established in 1981 and is home to over 2000 students. The motto at Lassiter is “Reaching Excellence and Climbing Higher”. Lassiter’s goal is to exceed expectations in everything they do. They work together with the community and parents to create an environment where students can achieve not only in high school, but also in college and beyond. As a result, Lassiter been named a Georgia School of Excellence as well as a National Blue Ribbon School of Excellence.

Academics
Lassiter Academics are strong. Teaching methods reflect an awareness of different learning styles. Faculty, staff and administration hold themselves accountable to strong professional ethics. Students have responsibility as well. These include being prepared for class, being honest in their efforts and striving to their highest potential. A variety of advanced placement course are offered at Lassiter. These cover subjects such as Fine Arts, English, Mathematics, Science, Career/Technology, Foreign Language and Social Studies. Lassiter’s STEM Academy has earned both State and National Recognition.
Athletics
14 sports make up the Athletics program at Lassiter. Since 1981 the school has won 28 State Championships in GHSA sanctioned sports. Most noteworthy is the Trojan baseball team, which won a National title in 1999. Lacrosse, Swim Team, Softball and Gymnastics have all won recent State Championships. Working toward a common goal brings athletes, their coaches and their supporters together. Determination, perseverance and teamwork are all involved in building a successful team. As a result, students carry these skills with them well beyond high school.
Fine Arts/Performing Arts/Extra-Curricular
In January 2013 the Cobb County School District unveiled its state of the art concert hall on the Lassiter Campus. Specifically designed for instrumental and choral concerts, the hall seats 1,000. It has professional acoustics and is the venue for many CCSD performances. Lassiter’s own Performing Arts Department includes Chorus, Concert Band, Jazz Band, Marching Band,Orchestra and Drama. The Fine Arts program consists of ceramics, drawing, painting, photography and pottery.
