Daniell Middle School

Daniell Middle School opened to students in 1965. The school serves over 900 students in grades 6-8. The mission at Daniell is: Prepare all students for academic success. The Vision is:To be a community that cultivates responsible, creative, and inquisitive innovators of the future.

Academics:
Daniell offers a Scholar’s Academy for eighth graders with three fields of study: Spanish, STEM, and Leadership, Law and Public Service. The academies are designed to expose students to career choices, and help them decide what to study in high school. The Daniell Virtual Learning opportunities are facilitated by the Media Specialist. Through this avenue students can earn high school credit in Physical Science, Algebra, Spanish, Art, Business Education,and Chinese.

Connections:
Connections classes are designed so that in sixth grade students sample all the electives over a 9 week period. In seventh grade students narrow their focus by taking semester long courses. In eighth grade students narrow their focus even more by taking year long courses. Electives include Health/Physical Education, Band, STEM Engineering and Technology, Family and Consumer Science, Orchestra, Art, and Chorus.

Student Activities
Students at Daniell Middle School enjoy many opportunities to pursue interests outside of academics. The many clubs and activities offer social interaction and a way to test out new activities. 4H, Academic Bowl, Anime Club, Doctor Who Club, Gaming Club, Heart and Sole Running Club, No Place for Hate, and Tech Detox Club are a few of the clubs that students can join.

PTSA
The PTSA at Daniell is an active organization that serves the school in many different ways. They volunteer at the Front Desk, run the Book Fair, Meet & Greet and have even started a Craft Fair with proceeds benefiting the school. They follow the guidelines of the National PTA and strive to be an advocate for all children. Their goal is to connect and support parents, teachers/staff/administrators and students to prepare them for high school and beyond.
