Kell High School

Carlton J. Kell High School is is located in East Cobb. Founded in 2002, it serves 1400 students in grades 9-12. The school was named for Carlton “Corky” Kell, a highly respected coach and athletic director for CCSD. Kell students can choose from a variety of classes and programs including fine arts, vocational, foreign language, honors and AP classes and athletics. The school has an outstanding faculty and staff that prides itself on providing an exceptional educational experience for all students.

Academics
15 Advanced Placement classes are offered at Kell. These classes allow students to earn college credit while attending high school. Students can also take on-level or Honors classes. Students can also take classes in the Career Tech pathway. These classes set them up for college, technical school, or careers post graduation. Classes offered include Government/Protective Services, Marketing, Engineering and Architecture, Graphic Design, and Broadcast/Video Production.

Athletics
Kell has a strong athletic program. There are 6 Fall sports, 5 Winter sports and 11 Spring sports offered. The following sports have Freshman teams as well as Junior Varsity and Varsity: Boy’s Basketball and Football.

Performing and Fine Arts
Since opening in 2002, Kell’s Band program has established a reputation for musical excellence. The Concert Band program includes Wind Ensemble, Symphonic Band and Concert Band. Marching Band is part of the Concert Band program and not only performs at football games, but participates in competitions as well. The Kell Drama Club produces several mainstage productions each year. The Kell Chorus has groups for different skill levels. They perform for the school and public several times a year.
