Mountain View Elementary School

Mountain View Elementary School is located in East Cobb County. It serves 800 students in grades Pre K – 5. Mountain View was opened in 1928. The original school was completely replaced and opened for the 2017-2018 school year.

-The vision of Mountain View is for all children to appreciate life-long learning and become productive citizens in society.

-Students rotate between the following “Specials” on a daily basis: Art, Music, Physical Education, and Computer Lab.

-The Learning Commons at MVES is a hub of information and creative learning. This model allows students to work independently, in small groups, and in whole groups using a variety of technology. The Learning Commons promotes independent and collaborative learning through the maker-space, collaboration station, independent study rooms, a production studio, and whole grade level lessons, as well as a place to comfortably enjoy a book.

-Mountain View’s PTA ensures advocacy for EVERY CHILD, ONE VOICE. This dedicated group of volunteers assist in so many ways. Just of few of the areas they are involved with are: supplies for PE and Music, enrichment tools for Special Education, Target and Speech, health and wellness initiatives, Fall Festival, Winter Dance, and International Night.

-Mountain View also has a Foundation, which was founded in 2006 to address the shortfalls in funds received from the state and the county. The Foundation has funded the school’s STEM Lab Instructor, and all supplies for the STEM lab. Foundation provides enrichment through After School Clubs such as Scientific Terrific, Cheer, Coder School and Soccer.

-ASP is the after school program offered from dismissal to 6pm. A snack, art activity, playtime, games, homework, and enrichment activities are all part of the program. ASP provides a safe and nurturing place for students.
