Canton

Canton is located near the center of Cherokee County. The city lies north of Holly Springs and south of Ball Ground with downtown Atlanta only 40 miles away via I-575 and I-75.

Downtown on the Square you will find that the community spirit is thriving. For this reason, check out a sampling of the many events held on the Square:

• Canton Farmer’s Market- held every Saturday from May to October.
• Art and Wine Walk- held in early April. This event allows residents to attend wine tastings and browse local artist’s wares.
• First Friday – May through October. Join the party every first Friday from 6 to 9 p.m. in Downtown Canton. This fun-filled event includes a car show, live music, food and beverages, and wonderful local shopping.

Altogether, Canton is home to 8 parks giving residents access to walking trails, covered pavilions, fields, courts, playgrounds, and green space. Covering 58 acres, the largest park is the Etowah River Park. This park features an amphitheater, community pavilions, public canoe launch, and plenty of picnic tables. Additionally, the park has a ½ mile concrete walking trail connecting to Etowah River Trail and Heritage Park including a bridge crossing over the Etowah River.
