Roswell

Roswell is located in northern Fulton County.  It was founded in the 1830’s when a cotton mill was built on the banks of Vickery Creek. The remains of the cotton mill still stand today and is known as Roswell Mill Park, one of the many parks the city maintains. The southern portion of the city follows the Chattahoochee River.  It is the 7th largest city in Georgia.

Roswell is popular because of it’s walkability and active downtown area.  The historic downtown area has many unique boutiques, art galleries and restaurants to chose from.

Roswell boasts over 900 acres of public parks, several situated along the banks of the Chattahoochee River.  Residents enjoy playgrounds, a Splash Pad, Tubing, Rafting, Fishing, outdoor concerts and Movies on the Green. Roswell Area Park is one of the largest recreational parks and offers community classes on a variety of subjects. It’s also home to The Chattahoochee Nature Center (CNC). The CNC sits on a beautiful site comprised of 127 acres of native plants and gardens which showcase the beauty of Georgia. It includes a River Boardwalk, Discovery Center, wetland demonstration gardens and woodland trails, which are home to over 50 species of injured, non-releasable wildlife.

Cultural Center/Community Events

The Cultural Arts Center hosts programming for all ages. Puppet Shows, Concerts, Musicals are available at this venue, located in the historic downtown area. The city hosts another popular event called Alive in Roswell. The event is held monthly from April to October and takes on a pedestrian friendly street festival.  Local businesses which surround the venue participate in the event and provide live music, food trucks, kids games, face painting, etc.

Just a short drive from Roswell are larger retail shops and dining areas, such as North Point Mall and The Avalon.
