East Cobb Middle School

A feeder school for the magnet school, Wheeler High School this culturally diverse school ranks in the top 50% of schools in Georgia. 

East Cobb Middle School is located in a community that has served the educational needs of students in the eastern section of the county for over 50 years, opening in 1963.  The same five (5) feeder elementary schools, Brumby, Eastvalley, Powers Ferry, Sedalia Park and Sope Creek, still send their children to East Cobb Middle School.  East Cobb Middle School is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and School and was named a Georgia Distinguished Title I School in 2010.  We are fortunate to have a supportive PTSA and School Foundation that support our staff and students by providing teacher grants, student recognition, and several community nights.

Although no official school teams there are intramural sports weekly for those that wish to participate. These include…

In 8th grade students may participate in the Science Olympiad. 

There are extracurricular activities for every interest a student might have, these include 

Dance Team, Jazz band, robotics club, broadcast production, BETA club, student forum, yearbook club, design club, anime, heart and sole, reading bowl, and Jewish middle school…with new activities added regularly.

Tutoring is available from selected magnet students from Wheeler High. Subjects range from social studies, math, study skills, science and language arts.
